TroyWorks is a consulting firm specializing in Rich Internet Application (Web 2.0) and Rich Internet Media (i.e. Flash Video) application, architecture, development and training to clients such as Schematic, Neilsen, Showtime,. With a focus on skillsets Flash, Actionscript, Flash Video, Java, Remoting and Flash Communication Server.
Troy Gardnerl, is a 10 year veteran in the internet space, and has been using Flash since ver 3, and has frequently been involved on largescale projects trying to make Flash go to places it hasn't and sometimes it probably shouldn't. He comes from a traditional programming/architect/IA background (Java, C#, etc); He figured out being an artist+musician wouldn't support his gadget habit. He came back to Flash when Actionscript got some real power, and the Presedia Player (written in Java) was running into problems and he suggested Flash. This turned out to be a great move, and later turned into the Breeze productline.
Working heavily with Schematic (www.schematic.com), Troy focused on RIA's, ITV mockups, video on the web, component development using traditional Computer Science methodologies like OOP, MVC/UCM and statemachines.
At his own consulting company Troyworks (www.TroyWorks.com), in his free time he focuses on information visualization, helping on the openamf project (an open source flash remoting alternative), writes about RIA best practicies in Flash and offers training in Flash to clients like Fox Studios.
